The Patek Philippe story began when Polish immigrants Antoni Patek and Franciszek Czapek joined forces in 1839 to create Patek, Czapek & Cie. In 1844 they visited Adrien Phillipe, an innovative French watchmaker.
It was when Czapek left the company a year later, that Adrien Philippe stepped in. This union was legally ratified in 1851 and Ancienne manufacture d'horlogerie Patek, Philippe & Cie Société Anonyme was born.
A history decorated with awards, Patek Philippe became known for their complications. While the perpetual calendar in was patented in 1889, some designs were so complex they couldn’t be built for almost 30years.
Setting the standard for excellence and hand-finishing, today the Patek Philippe seal is benchmark for the highest echelon of build quality, widely considered to be the best watchmaking in the world.
